Hello and welcome! My name is Vincent Pan.

Vincent Pan

Currently based out of the San Francisco Bay Area 🌉. You can find me working in Menlo Park, California, or when I am visiting friends and family every now and again in Sydney, Australia 🐨.

I am a graduate with a Bachelor of Commerce/Science from the University of New South Wales and an online Master of Science in Analytics from Georgia Tech 📓, spending my time on personal projects 🎨 and working full time 💻.

I also take photos!

My work is a dialogue between the rhythmic stillness of being away from my Australian Chinese roots and the vibrant, shifting light of my current home in California. My practice as an photographer is rooted in a simple, profound act: listening to the world. I seek to reinterpret the boundaries between the mundane and the marvelous until distinction between the two dissolves entirely.

My process is an internal one. I often find the true image by closing my eyes, allowing the atmosphere and sensory weight of a place to guide my shutter. And when I am not behind the lens, my hand carve pastels onto paper. As a conceptual visual artist, I experiment by playing with the sharp lies of photography and the soft truths of pastels to reimagine our surroundings. My work is an invitation to step into the quiet of my eyes.
